Brown is the kind of place where you will have more choice than you will know what to do with. If this scares you, don't come here. If it excites you, as I feel it does for most students on campus, definitely come check us out. The experience here is really what you make of it, even more so than at lots of other schools. To this end, here's some semi-cliche advice that actually does apply to the "Brown experience":
  • have an open mind
  • don't be afraid to make mistakes
  • try everything, especially if it is new and unfamilliar
  • take risks
  • be aware that you alone are responsible for your education, but don't freak out over every little decision
  • remember there are tons of people here to help you; don't be afraid to seek help when you need it
  • (by the way, I'm a neuroscience major - this wasn't a choice listed on the form)
