I went to UT because it was convenient (I'm one of the surburban kids guaranteed admission due to high school accomplishments), not because it was a lifelong desire like so many of the students attending it. Honestly, the school itself is great; I wish I could say it's horrible, but the profs know their stuff, the school has tons of great resources available to students, and if you can find your niche, I'm sure you'll be very pleased. However, certain schools aren't for everyone. If you don't mind feeling like a face in the crowd, killing yourself to get to classes on time due to the school's sheer size, or living in a city whose unofficial motto seems to be "Keep Austin Weird," you may want to consider UT Austin. If you want to feel of value, though, chances are you won't find it here.
