UNCW has a beautiful campus, its close location to the beach makes the atmosphere very peaceful. THe people around campus were not very friendly. Most of them already had their group of friends so would not give anyone else the time of day. Living in the dorms was an awful experience. THe fire alarms went off all the time for no aparent reason, maintenance requests took very long to be fixed, the bathrooms were very gross. Living in Hewlett/Graham, I thought the bathrooms and rooms would be a little bit nicer but they certainly were not! I didn't have any problems with the professors, it's like any school some are good, some are bad, some hard and some more laid back. The academic advisors were of no help what so ever. Orientation was ridiculous because there were not enough people around to help you sign up for classes. Outside of the campus though, the city of Wilmington is very beautiful, there are many very old homes that have been turned into museums which are quite interesting and along the Cape Fear River Basin there are shops, restaurants and much more along the colonial brick road.
