Major: Journalism (This Major's Salary over time)
There are lots of great people who go to Ohio University, so you'll definitely make friends no matter if you choose to go out and party every weekend or if you're a little more laid-back. Most of the professors are good, but there is the occasional bad one who you'll have to put up with. As for the dorms, almost all of them have definitely seen their better day - there's a scrapbook in my dorm from the 1960s and it has a picture of my building from that time and the lobby looks EXACTLY the same. Living arrangements are adaquate, however, and the campus is nice. Athens itself is a pretty boring crappy town that's not close to a big city at all.

The big problem I've had so far is with my major (Journalism.) There is definitely a stereotype of journalism majors as being social-climbing tools who are really cut-throat competitive, and it's mostly true. Unfortunately, the journalism program here isn't really about what you know, but rather who you know. I'm a little disillusioned with journalism which contributed to my decision to declare a second major (Spanish) in the College of Arts and Sciences, which will be something to fall back on if my journalism education doesn't turn out well.
