Going to Arizona State has been interesting, although the experience has not been unique at all. ASU is definately a fun place to go to school; there is never a shortage of parties or activities to participate in. You can literally drink and party and whatever throughout an entire year if you want to. The classes are rewarding for those who actually decide to put forth an efort and attend them (usually very few), however they are usually very large and not the least bit personable or interactive. ASU's biggest shortcoming is it's students—half of whom drop out before graduation. The student body is obnoxiously vain and apathetic. The school is full of people who despise anything that could be seen as possibly intellectual and a lot of the students main concern is looking good and being seen as cool. IT'S LIKE YOU NEVER LEFT HIGH SCHOOL. If you are vain and cannot be bothered with academics, you might want to look into ASU. If you are actually motivated and want learn, ASU can provide you with an education, however, you will have to put up with a lot of really vain and trashy people.

commentAbsolutely correct! The student body here is very cliquey and concerned about being cool. The students are heavily divided even with ethnic groups. I transferred to UofA from ASU and I can honestly say that the student population, academics, and just Tucson life in general is sooooooooooooooo much better than ASU's could ever hope to be! The reason for this is because of all the resource centers on their campus for various groups (ransfers, LGBT, military, ethnic groups, etc.). I'm Native American, and the community at UofA has a strong relationship with the Asian community (where I found most of my friends). ASU has nothing for the Asian community besides this crapper of the building that they call the Student Pavilion where all they do is talk about each other like they're back in high school. The Native community at ASU is also very divided. I don't understand why they have 2 offices instead of just one. There's no sense of community at ASU or Tempe. This "school," which hasn't even been accredited for more than 100 years, shouldn't even exist.
