State has been a disappointment for me, but some of my friends really love it here. Those of us who don't tend to have the same complaint. In a place this big, it gets lonely, people get lost and no one is concerned with what might be going on in your life. This is a huge party school as well, and if you don't drink you don't belong here. As someone who doesn't like to party, it's been a frustrating and lonely experience and even those who party for their first couple of years usually wind up wondering where it all went and what the deeper meaning was. Tired of popping my bike tires on all the broken glass, not being able to walk my dog down the sidewalks (she'll cut her paws), and tired of the piles of puke on lawns and underwear in bushes. The classes are easier than they should be, and I honestly had a harder time in high school than I do here. I'd like to be at a school with intellectual challenge, less drunks, and more personal attention. You really have to actively seek out help on campus in terms of advisors and profs. There are some cool things to do outside of the city (and other than clubs and bars every night), like rock climbing. Get a car and really get out there.
