It is hard to get in if you areNov 28 2009Biology
It is hard to get in if you are out of state, but really easy to get in if your are from Delaware.

I guess because Delaware is such a small state, less than 40% of the students that go to UD are actually from Delaware. The school wants more DE kids to go there so they make it really easy for them to get in. But the school wants to keep up its good academic reputation so they make it really really hard for out of state students to get in.

My best advice is get 2 or 3 really really good recommendations and write a killer essay and you will be fine -- even if your SAT scores aren't great.
SAT: 1980 Male

I applied online. The process was very easy, however as stated above I had to keep on the admissions department about my status. Also my paperwork being misplaced and filed in the wrong year was terrible. I don't know how to recommend getting around this problem except prayer.

Admissions has been increasing over the years and with that so has the standards of getting in. My friends visited who go to community colleges and went to one of my classes. They say they learned the same stuff there. Its not the quality of education here that is any different. This is a state school in Delaware. The University continues to accept academically talented individuals to bring up the academic view of the campus. But I've realized that pretty much anywhere below ivy league is the same education.

I don't even know, it's getting ridiculously hard to get in lately. At LEAST a 3.8 GPA and i'm not sure about SATs...really good scores though. Something tells me they want to go ivy.
