I had a decent SAT and a decent GPAMay 14 2011Biology
I had a decent SAT and a decent GPA enough to get into the Honors program. I did not do too many activities. Temple was my safety, but I am glad I am here. It is cheaper than most state schools, provide a lot of opportunities for those who need something to do, and is a friendly institution. Diversity is great here! If you step out of your comfort zone and make friends, the fact is it is easier than you think.

You don't have to do much, reallyMay 12 2011Computer Science
You don't have to do much, really. You just need generally good grades (A's, B's, C's). There are people who get in with mostly C's that even get scholarships from the university. If you take APs and honor classes, it helps, but you don't need it. Just take APs and honor classes for the classes that appeal to you the most and do very well on the exam, and you will be able to use that as college credits at Temple.

When you get in, just work consistently. Don't cram. It might work one time, but it will eventually come back to haunt you. Form study groups early, because it definitely helps.

Oh, and when you move out of your first year there, don't automatically try to form groups and find your own place together. You should talk to upperclassmen that you know and ask them about their experiences, because there are some crappy/stingy landowners out there who will make your school years a living hell and possibly a financial nightmare if you are not careful about the lease. Also, a lot of places look like crap and ARE crap for cheap/affordable rent.

Also, be careful around here if you're not from the city. Girls, don't go out showing off your legs to no end without expecting some attention from creepers, especially during the later hours. If you need to show off some skin to get some attention, then all you're asking for is for sex, so expect to be treated like trash. For everyone, if you're walking outside of campus especially at night, then don't walk around nervously and don't be distracted by texting or listening to music. Be aware of your surroundings, know where you're going, and don't give attention to people who you do not know. Otherwise, you will allow yourself to be a target.

75% acceptance rateMay 09 2011Computer Science
75% acceptance rate. Since the students that do get in are idiots anyway, I cant imagine the people that get rejected.

I had a 3.78 GPA in high school and took all AP classes...temple accepts idiots, which is another reason why they are bad! Money Money Money!! thats all they care about not about providing a good education to students. I suggest you dont get in!
