Because of the university needing finances (and, yes, the professors are vocal about it), it is not difficult to enter this school. Farmer Business School, because of generous donations from the Farmer family, is the only school that may be worth attending. I would be wary about taking other majors, because you just are NOT going to have a "unique experience with unique professors" at MU. Outside of the Business school, MU is just another public university.

Acceptance into Miami U for in-state students is a little tougher than it is for out of state applicants, but if you graduated in the top half of your class and had a decent GPA and ACT (25+?) you should be fine. Out of state is very easy to get accepted. My old roommate from out of state scored a 22 on his ACT and a 2.7 GPA at HS graduation but was accepted anyways. I can only guess that this is because the out-of-state tuition is incredibly pricey and so the University receives a lot more money from the latter students.

I kept a good GPA in high school and studied for the ACT but not to the extreme, I really focused on getting involved in school clubs and activities to make myself standout, I was involved with these things for all four years of high school including community service. I also spent a lot of time on the writing portion of the application.
