I had relatively high test scores but a rather low GPA and no problem getting in. I had to audition on my instrument. How hard it is to get into the music school depends on how good you are and how good the other auditionees are. Some years mediocre musicians are accepted whereas other years good musicians are turned away.

Just don't bother, the campus is not friendly to commuters anymore like its reputation states it has been. The dorms are shitty and there is no point even getting on the extremely long waiting list. The academics here really suck and the people are generally assholes, like anywhere you will meet some cool people though. The best advice to anyone is just don't go here.
