As a fashion student I had to complete a separate application for the program, which was not too difficult. However, for my application to get into the college itself I just focused on my SAT scores and having a personal essay that really said something about me.

Do really well throughout your four years of high school because Marist is a test optional school. They believe that one test should not decide whether or not you get in. Also do a lot of community service/ hold leadership positions and write a good and creative essay!

I've worked since I was 14 and have held 2 jobs that were both very different from each other- one was an office job that demanded me to use my brain and be able to figure things out while the other was a job working with people and demanded that I be open and friendly and know how to work as a team.
I was also very involved in a few clubs in HS- I didn't join a million clubs but got VERY involved in the ones that I was in.
Lastly, I worked really hard to be able to improve my grades each year- always show progress!!

Be super involved in extracurricular activities! Marist expects their students to be involved on campus and in the community, it shows a lot if you were involved in high school and had leadership positions. Also, be sure to challenge yourself to more difficult classes (and do well in them!) Marist is increasingly becoming more popular, and therefore more selective. Do everything you can to show you can excel with academics and socially!
