Took the SATS, Went on a couple campus tours,Jan 12 2010Social Work
Took the SATS, Went on a couple campus tours, met with some of the admission and other staff. To be honest my coach really helped me a lot with the whole admissions process and I decided to go to Marist as a junior in HS, so I can't say i remember a lot of it. It was slightly different for me because i was going to be playing Women's Soccer at Marist, so i met with a lot of different athletics administration.

The big thing that i would recommend is to take a few tours during different times of the year so you get a true feel of what Marist is about. If you come in the winter you're going to think it's so cold. If you come in the spring everyone will be outside playing football or frisbee or laying on the grass by the library. A lot of people go down to the river and hang out down there when it's nice out too. So really depending on when you come you'll get to experience the different types of atmospheres Marist has to offer. Also, if possible stay overnight to experience a different aspect of Marist.

I took part in lots of extra curricular activities in high school and managed to keep my grades up. Extracurricular involvement is a HUGE part of Marist student life so it's definitely good to get a head start in high school.

I do not know what to recommend to getJan 12 2010Other
I do not know what to recommend to get into Marist because I don't know exactly what they are looking for. But I'll tell you a little about me and what I did when I was applying for Marist, hopefully it will help. I worked hard in high school, I took honors and AP classes. I got almost straight A's and I was involved in clubs and extracurriculars. I submitted my ACT score (it was better than my SAT). My essay was about a family tradition of mine, Pizza Monday. And when I went to visit Marist, I had a meeting with someone from admissions. As with all colleges though, they are definitely trying to get a more diverse student body and everyone has a chance to apply, so if you are interested, then I would suggest applying.
