I had mediocre SAT scores and managed to get in, although the word is they've upped their standards in recent years (although it doesn't really show in the student body). Honestly, it takes more work to get into the college than it takes to get decent grades once you get here; so if you're hell bent on going to Marist just work hard in high school, get the solid grades and extracurriculars and then get ready for a nice 4 year cruise (depending upon your area of study obviously).

I did all that was asked of me andJan 21 2010Education
I did all that was asked of me and made sure to visit more than once and attend accepted students day, orientation, etc.

I would recommend getting involved with as many activitiesJan 21 2010Accounting
I would recommend getting involved with as many activities at your high school that you can fit into your schedule without going insane. Definitely participate in a lot of community service because that's really important.
SAT: 1220 Female
I kept in contact with MaristJan 21 2010Business - Management and Administration
I kept in contact with Marist. It is important to come on tours and see the college for yourself. It is important that Marist knows that you are interested in coming here. I made sure I kept my grades up and asked questions while I was here.
SAT: 1300 Female
When I first decided that I wanted to applyJan 20 2010Education
When I first decided that I wanted to apply to Marist, I went on the school's website to gain a better sense of what type of people would flourish in that enviornment. I also wanted to see what credentials the admissions office were looking for. After doing a little research, I filled out the application with crossed fingers.
If anyone would like to get into Marist College someday, I would highly reccomend that during high school and over summer breaks these individuals participate in volunteer activities and community service. Marist looks for well rounded students, not just brilliant minds. They want to make sure that this person will be a benefit to the campus as well. Do not get me wrong, grades and SAT scores are also considered highly. But try to do your part to make sure you stand out from your peers.
Good Luck!
