I have been active in theatre for over ten yearsFeb 04 2005Math
I have been active in theatre for over ten years. I played piano for 8. I was the captain of the Debate team and a member of the National Honor Society. I was also valedictorian of my class, and took a number of AP tests with scores of 4's and 5's.

Getting into FCLC really varies by your majorDec 03 2004Other
Getting into FCLC really varies by your major. If you're considering theater, you'd better find some safer schools. It's an amazing program, and very hard to get in to. ON the other hand, if you're a Classics major like me, it's not nearly as hard, but because of its small size (only 2,000 students, half of them commuters) LC might simply get competitive because of space, so be careful if you're going for housing (it's no cakewalk to get for anyone, and some people are STILL on waiting lists to get into the incredible suite style dorms). Nothing special otherwise. The school loves a good essay more than a good SAT score. It's all about making sure you bring a unique package to the school that would make them want to put you into the mix (I wouldn't be surprised if being a Classics major possibly helped me out in the end when I applied). Show your personality in any way possible, because they're not accepting statistics or figures here.

Fordham University offers a fantastic Semifinalist scholarship that paysFeb 10 2004Other
Fordham University offers a fantastic Semifinalist scholarship that pays full-tuition all four years for National Merit Semifinalists. I have one of these scholarships. Also, there is a Presidential Scholarship available that covers tuition, room, & board for those with at least a 1400 and a high GPA. Both scholarships are great for anyone looking for a challenging liberal-arts school in a great city.

Still, Fordham is easier to get into than other schools on the east coast (and especially so compared with NYU or Columbia), though this surprising picture is starting to change.
SAT: 1350 Male
