Elon really cares about having students with global perspectivesJan 22 2014Biology
Elon really cares about having students with global perspectives that want to not only learn about the world around them, but also play an active role in an increasingly globalized world. I sound like I'm quoting the catalog, but this is really true. Any unique experiences that relate to other cultures or parts of the world are good to include on your application. Elon wants a body of students with diverse perspectives. Every time I get to know a fellow student, at some point I'll find out that they grew up in a foreign country or had some other significant international connection/ experience.

I applied Early Decision which helped me to be accepted and it actually means that you get placed first in classes and for your dorm room choices. I had a really good essay and a lot of volunteer work which helped.
Funny storyApr 02 2012Computer Science
Funny story... I applied Early Action because I wanted to get all of my applications over with and I had good scores in high school. Well I was supposed to get word from the school by December 1. The first rolls around, no word from Elon. I wait for an entire week and still nothing. Needless to say I was worried. I called up the admissions office and spoke to a very friendly young lady who understood my nervousness and calmly helped me out. I felt much better when she said that all I needed to do was send a copy of my parents tax forms to the school's admissions office and I would receive confirmation before the 21st! So that's my funny story, obviously I got in.
